We decided not to host a NYE party this year because we are participating in a New Years Day run the next morning. But last year we hosted a last minute family friendly NYE bash for a few friends. Here are a few ideas for a fun party that caters to the adults and kids.

• Who doesn’t love a balloon drop! The balloon bag was purchased on Amazon.
• The kids had a coloring station where they could color their own NYE hat. The template can be downloaded here. Print the file on cardstock for a sturdier hat.
• We made kid friendly jello shots so the kiddos could be included when the adults took theirs. Make sure to label which ones are for adults and kids!
• The downloadable and build your own Photo Booth Props were purchased on Etsy.
• We used the Netflix New Year Eve’s countdown so that we had a kid friendly countdown at 9pm. Therefore, most of the kids were asleep by midnight for the adult’s regular countdown.

When John of J Sherman Photography contacted me two weeks ago to ask if I was interested in “picture perfect” photo shoot staging for Mrs. Texas United States 2016, Raquel Fatiuk… I was stunned, flattered, scared and nervous! I am so appreciative for this amazing opportunity! I had to pinch myself a few times and asked if this was real life! Mrs. Texas, her husband and dogs were wonderful to work with!

• John gave me the freedom to do anything I had in mind and his one request was to have a picnic setting with the vintage truck in the background.
• Glenn and Debbie Rodkey of Piece By Piece gave me the creative freedom to visit their shop & hand select any items I wanted to use for the photo shoot! This vintage shop is located at 7246 Masters Rd in Manvel Texas. If you see any items you like in the photos, they are available for purchase! The vibrant green arm chair and vintage dresser is made of tiger wood and both are over 200 years old! And the truck is fully operational!
