February Mantel

I’m a little late to get on the love boat this month since I have been sick and a busy bee planning my daughter’s birthday party. Valentine’s Day is tomorrow! So I finally decorated the mantle last night using items I had around the house.

The details:

  • Lace silk flowers were from the master bedroom dresser purchased from Michaels
  • The “Every Day I Love You” Frame and Wooden Ampersand are from the bedroom décor that I haven’t gotten around to hanging.
  • The large silk peony is from Nothing Bundt Cake. A friend brought over a cake when I hosted a crafting event last fall and I didn’t toss out the cake topper after the cake was eaten. hehe!
  • Cylinder vases and candle stands are from Home Goods
  • Mini stand is from Target
  • My sister gifted me the cement statues
  • The tea pot was from a gift set
  • I have no clue where I got the elephant. I bet it was Home Goods.

Happy Valentine’s Day all! Wishing you a month and year filled with love!

Little Man Baby Shower

Over the weekend, we celebrated my sweet cousin and her husband with a Little Man Baby Shower for their little one on the way. I offered to decorate the event because I wanted to do something special for them. They have been together over 20 years (since high school), married 10 years and their dream of expanding their family is coming true.

The details

  • DIY cake table backdrop with DIY pinwheels
  • DIY Candy Buffet table backdrop with mustaches
  • Etsy shop El Tendedero for the Welcome Baby Banner, cupcake wrappers & toppers, water bottle labels and games signage
  • Etsy Shop The Arty Apples for Candy Buffet sign
  • Etsy Shop Bump And Beyond Designs for the Little Man Banner
  • Etsy shop Studio Yniguez for the favor tag
  • The gorgeous and delicious cake is from Isabel’s Sweet House
  • The daddy-to-be made the sweet wooden name board for baby Zhu and the top hat with mustache frame

Shabby Chic Tea Birthday Party

With Vera’s 3rd birthday being just around the corner, I thought it would be fun to share memories from her Shabby Chic Tea First Birthday Party! I still haven’t picked out a theme for her party this year and I can’t believe my littlest one is no longer a baby!

The little details:

  • DIY fabric garland banner: select your favorite assortments of fabric and have them cut to half a yard. Cut strips of each fabric, tie them onto a long string of jute until you achieve the desired look
  • DIY Name: I purchase the heavy duty burlap cardstock from Hobby Lobby and I ordered DIY letter templates to stencil the letters with paint
  • DIY Photo Booth
  • DIY triangle and round garlands: get triangle and circle punches and start punching until your hands are numb
  • DIY scalloped doily garland: Made with paper doilies by folding then in half, glue the ends together but leave the folded section unglued so that jute can be inserted and the halved doilies can be adjustable along the jute
  • DIY pom poms
  • DIY floral mason jar tags
  • DIY favor bags topped doilies
  • DIY balloon tassels and high chair fringe garland: Made from plastic table clothes so they would be lightweight!
  • DIY vase décor: get threads of coordinating colors to wrap around the neck of vases for delicate details
  • DIY heart shaped cupcake toppers and donut hole inserts
  • Downloadable Shabby Chic Photo Booth Props were purchased on Etsy
  • Downloadable Shabby Chic Water Bottle Labels
  • Rose Shabby Chic Scalloped Banner was purchased on Etsy
  • Cake was made by Maria Carlo of Doux House! Delicious!
